package `symas-cyrus-sasl` fails to copy some files on install
Since symas-cyrus-sasl 2.1.27-4 release we have had issue with installing symas-cyrus-sasl where the COPYING and README files are attempting to be installed by both symas-cyrus-sasl and symas-cyrus-sasl-lib
Steps to reproduce
- Try to do
apt install symas-cyrus-sasl
Current result:
Unpacking symas-cyrus-sasl (2.1.27-4focal1) ...
dpkg: error processing archive /var/cache/apt/archives/symas-cyrus-sasl_2.1.27-4focal1_amd64.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite '/opt/symas/share/doc/cyrus-sasl/COPYING', which is also in package symas-cyrus-sasl-lib 2.1.27-4focal1
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/symas-cyrus-sasl_2.1.27-4focal1_amd64.deb
Expected result Files are not duplicated in the packages so both packages can be installed (symas-cyrus-sasl and symas-cyrus-sasl-lib)
Impact:
Does not immediately impact openldap, b/c it needs only symas-cyrus-sasl-lib, but symas-cyrus-sasl cannot be installed.
Notes:
The fix will be to update the symas-cyrus-sasl.install
file not to include the whole opt/symas/share
folder, but to include just the relevant subfolders.
I will be working on it
